COSMELAN
The Cosmelan peel is your answer to clear, bright and even skin.

Cosmelan is a professional depigmentation method which has an intensive corrective effect on skin hyperpigmentation whilst regulating the overproduction of melanin in the melanocytes, inhibiting, and controlling the appearance of new dark spots.
Its efficacy is based on its double mechanism of action that on the one part has a corrective effect, eliminating hyperpigmentation and the effect which controls the overproduction of melanin and prevents the appearance of new spots long term.
Anyone concerned with pigmentation, melasma, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation caused by acne can benefit from Cosmelan. It is safe to be performed at any time of year, on new or stubborn pigment deposits, all ages, and skin colours.

Step 1 - Skin Consultation
Your first step with us is a professional skin consultation to establish your concerns and expectations. This thorough analysis of your skin and its condition is a crucial element in your first treatment with us.
The skin consultation and analysis ensures the treatment is suitable for you and will completely address your concerns now and in the future.
We will also ask you questions about your current skincare routine, medical conditions, and your lifestyle to tailor the best treatment plan for you. During your skin consultation we will book you in for the application of Cosmelan which a deposit will need to be made to purchase the treatment.

Step 2 - Cosmelan Application
-
Involves an in-clinic treatment which takes 30 minutes and involves the application of the Cosmelan. Once the mask is applied, you will go home with the mask on and leave it on for up to 8-12 hours depending on your skin type.

Step 3 - At home Maintenance:
-
Consists of a 6 month home care maintenance program, which is critical to the success of the treatment.
You will be given a full home care kit which is included in the cost of treatment:
Hydra milk cleanser, hydratonic, hydra-vital factor K, Hydra-vital face mask, melan recovery, melan 130 pigment control suncream and Cosmelan no 2 maintenance cream.

What are the side effects and downtime after the first treatment:
Side effects with Cosmelan treatments are rare but easily managed. Some skins may feel a little red following removal of the in-clinic mask.
This may be accompanied by some minor dryness and flaking. Any tightness may be easily relieved by applying a nurturing moisturiser such as Hydra-Vital Factor K which is supplied in your home maintenance kit.
It is recommended to avoid direct sun exposure following a Cosmelan treatment and to wear a broad spectrum SPF30 every day before, during, and following treatment.

-
Day 1-4: skin will be red, tight, hot, and mildly swollen very similar to mild sunburn.
-
Day 4-5: peeling will start around this time and may last 7-10 days. It is very important NOT to pick, rub, or exfoliate the skin. Allow skin to shed naturally. If you pick the skin, you will increase the risk of infection and scarring.

We do not recommend planning any social events in the few weeks following your treatment.

Results will be noticeable 2-3 weeks post-treatment after the peeling has stopped.
You should expect a significant improvement in pigmentation. Deep dermal pigmentation may not lift completely.
You will notice reduced pigmentation as well as clearer, brighter skin. This should continue to slowly improve over time as long as you adhere to home care and reduce any triggers such as sun exposure and hormonal influences.
Cosmelan treatment is not suitable for:
-
Sunburn (avoid exposure to UV radiation for 15 days before treatment).
-
Pregnancy and breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy in the next 6 months
-
Not suitable for those with poorly controlled rosacea.
-
If you have been using oral tretinoin (Roaccutane) in the last 12 months (a doctors note must be supplied)
-
Skin diseases, allergies to any of the components of the formulation.
-
Treatment with isotretinoin, antibiotics, hydroquinone.
-
Bacterial, viral, fungal, or herpes infection.
-
We do not recommend combining it with other chemical peel and/or hair removal techniques.
-
The application time of the professional mask is subject to the criteria of the professional, based on skin type characteristics and skin conditions.
-
To ensure lasting results, it is essential to complete the home treatment cycle (progressive inhibition).
